The Stroboscope:

Our Cartridge Alignment Protractor allows you to accurately adjust the speed of your turntable to 33-1/3, 45 and 78rpm. It is designed for artificial light.

When the turntable’s speed is correct the disc’s pattern will appear to be static. Place the disc on your platter, then turn on your light. Adjust your turntable’s speed control until the pattern on the disc doesn’t move. This will achieve the correct playing speed.

On the rear of the disc there is a cartridge alignment tool which has several options enabling critical alignment.

The Cartridge Alignment Protractor:

The relationship of stylus to groove is intimate, thus requiring precise alignment. It directly affects tracking ability and thus record wear. The stylus exerts force on the groove walls. Careful set-up results in optimal tracking and better stereo separation. Accordingly, a good set up will improve record reproduction quality. We cannot over-emphasise the importance of good cartridge alignment. To optimise performance, these adjustments are crucial.

Our Sturdy Acrylic Disc is packed professionally and includes a stiffener insert for safe transit.

It is 300mm diameter with Industry Standard 7.2mm Spindle hole making it suitable for all modern turntables and tonearms.
